Glenn Marini began as WANE 15’s Sports Director in July of 2008 and is proud to call Fort Wayne home. While working at WANE 15 Glenn has been honored with “Best Sportscast” by the Indiana Broadcasters Association twice, including in 2017 for the “Highlight Zone.” He most recently was awarded first place by the Indiana Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in the ‘documentary’ category for a 30-minute special on the history of baseball in Fort Wayne. Among numerous other awards, he took home top prize in the state for sports videography from the Associated Press in 2014 & 2016 and earned the Bob Parker Award for his baseball coverage in 2016. Before coming to Fort Wayne Glenn served as the sports director at KAIT-TV (ABC) in Jonesboro, Arkansas for three years. While in Jonesboro Glenn won multiple awards from the Associated Press, including the state’s “Best Documentary” for his series on NASCAR legend Mark Martin. Prior to that Glenn worked as a sports anchor for WKAG in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. A native of Muncie, Ind., Glenn graduated magna cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. His family still lives in Muncie with both of his parents having worked at Ball State University. Glenn and his wife, Emily, have been married since 2007. They welcomed their first daughter, Caroline, into the world in December of 2010. Almost three years later their second child, Lucia, was born. Here’s How To WIN A FREE Harlan Days Souvenir T-shirt! Stop by the Headquarters Tent and ask fro a free T-shirt signup slip. Fill it out and hand it to one of our volunteers. That’s it! (Please write legibly: if we can’t read it, we can’t call it!) Sign up ONCE PER NIGHT. On Saturday you can sign up once for 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, then again after we clear entries at around 4:10 pm. Well, if you haven’t won yet on Saturday. You can win one shirt, per day! Many winners are drawn every half hour: from 6:00pm to 9:30pm Thursday & Friday; from 11:30am to 9:30pm Saturday. Winners names are announced over the park speakers – so listen closely at each drawing for your name. If you’re one of the winners at that drawing, come to the Headquarters’ tent within 45 minutes* to get your shirt. You get to choose from the selection available; pick a shirt with your favorite local business name, or your favorite color! Sizes available are Youth Small through Adult 3XL. Obviously, as the fair progresses, the selection of colors & sizes dwindles; we cannot guarantee either will be available when you win. *Winners at 9pm & 9:30pm drawings will have 30 minutes to claim their shirt.
