Grand Marshal(s) Three TV Personalities to Be Harlan Days Parade Marshals Harlan Days Committee is proud to announce that Eric Olson, Kent Horman and Jason Meyers well lead the August 1 Harlan Days Parade They are WPTA Channel 21 Indiana’s News Center representatives in news, weather and sports. Eric Olsen is the weekend news anchor as well as the “21 Country” reporter, scouring the viewing area for interesting persons, places and things to write about. He was born and raised in New York but moved to Indiana at 16. He graduated from Central Noble High School in Albion and attended college at Indiana University and the University of Oregon School of Journalism. He and his wife Cathy have four children and one granddaughter and live in Fort Wayne. Kent Hormann is a Fort Wayne native and co-hosts on the sports program “The Score”. He began his broadcasting career in 1978 . He is a graduate of Heritage High School and Ball State University. Kent joined WKJG NewsCenter 33 in June of 1981 and spent 21 years with the station as a videographer, sports anchor and Sports Director. Among his career highs are anchoring the live broadcast of the Fort Wayne Komets Turner Cup clinching victory during the 1993 season. He was the broadcaster for the Fort Wayne Wizard games and is currently the voice of the play-by-play for the Tin Caps baseball games. Jason Meyers joined Indiana’s Newscenter Weather Team in 2006 and in 2009 earned his Seal of Approval from the American meteorological Society. He works weekends and throughout the week on special weather assignments. Before making his way to Fort Wayne, Jason worked in Lima, Ohio as a weather anchor for three evening news programs. He graduated from Ohio University. Jasen enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing “Ultimate Frisbee” and anything else that involves being outside.
